The Smart Packing Lady

All The Rage

Let’s avoid traveling with liquids as much as possible.

An inconvenience through TSA if traveling by air, but also whether traveling by car, train, bike or bus, there’s the risk of arriving at your destination with yucky clothing material in the event of a leak… of any kind.

That’s why Shampoo bars are all the rage.

TSA friendly and using no plastic bottles, bars are so much better for the environment.

Did you know? Shampoo bars were actually the standard before bottled shampoos became popular in the 1940’s.

Available, of course online, or at most beauty supply stores like Sally’s.

Shampoo bars are designed to stand up to hard water which is a plus when traveling, as you’ll come into contact with various water sources and seldom do public places like hotels or campsights, hostels, etc. have water softening systems. And No more slimy bottles or trying to figure which bottle is the shampoo and which is the conditioner. Just grab the bar and lather up. BUT…. lather your hands first then apply to scalp as rubbing the bar directly on your hair will create tangles and possible hair breakage. One shampoo bar should last the average traveler about 45 days. (and don’t forget a ziplock baggie, in case it’s still damp when you are ready to pack it)

Average cost is 7-15 dollars, But worth it. As long as your hair can take the change of a new shampoo temporarily, it is totally a traveler’s dream.
